The Extech MO290-NISTL is an 8-in-1 pinless moisture psychrometer with a built-in infrared thermometer, supplied with a limited NIST traceable calibration certificate. It reads moisture in wood and other building materials with virtually no surface damage, which makes it a good fit for inspection work on finished surfaces.
Beyond moisture, the meter measures humidity and air temperature through its built-in probe and reads surface temperature with a non-contact infrared design. Combining moisture, ambient and surface readings in one handheld tool cuts down on the number of instruments you carry.
The pinless sensor scans up to 0.75 inches below the surface. On-screen icons and an audible tone that speeds up as moisture rises help you sweep an area quickly and flag spots that read low, medium or high.
The limited NIST calibration certificate documents the meter's readings against traceable references, which supports quality records where verifiable measurement is part of the job.
