Authorized Dealer

As an authorized dealer of these brands, these instruments ship genuine and factory sealed, direct from the maker, with the manufacturer documentation in the box.

The Extech MO290-RK is a water restoration contractor's kit that brings ambient monitoring and moisture measurement together in one package. At its center is the MO290, an 8-in-1 pinless moisture psychrometer with a built-in infrared thermometer, so a single tool captures moisture content, humidity, air temperature and surface temperature on a job site.

The kit adds essential probes that let you check moisture levels under baseboards, in between walls and in hardwood and plywood subfloors. The pinless sensor reads up to 0.75 inches below the surface with virtually no marks, while the pin function is available for spot checks when direct contact readings are needed.

An RHT10 USB humidity and temperature datalogger is included to record ambient conditions over time. It supports grains per pound calculations and stores the readings needed to document drying progress and prepare reports for insurance work.

Audible alerts on the MO290 beep faster as moisture rises, and on-screen icons flag low, medium or high moisture content, so technicians can move quickly across a structure and pinpoint areas that still need attention.

Key Features

Moisture and ambient conditions in one meter

The MO290 measures moisture content alongside humidity, air temperature and dew point, so you can read both the material and the surrounding air without swapping tools.

Pinless and pin testing

Scan surfaces with the pinless sensor up to 0.75 inches deep and leave virtually no marks, then switch to the pin probe when a direct contact reading is called for.

Built-in infrared thermometer

A non-contact infrared thermometer with an 8 to 1 distance to target ratio helps locate cool or damp surfaces from a short standoff distance.

Extech MO290-RK water restoration kit with MO290 pinless moisture psychrometer and RHT10 USB humidity datalogger

RHT10 datalogger for documentation

The included USB datalogger records humidity and temperature over time so drying progress can be tracked and reported to insurance companies.

Probes for hidden areas

Supplied probes reach under baseboards, in between walls and into hardwood and plywood subfloors where moisture tends to hide.

Audible moisture alerts

The meter beeps faster as moisture climbs and shows low, medium or high icons, giving a fast read as you move across a structure.

Questions and Answers

Answers to the things buyers ask most

What is the difference between pinless and pin measurement on the MO290?

The pinless sensor scans up to 0.75 inches below the surface with virtually no marks, which suits finished surfaces. The pin function uses contact pins for a direct reading when you need to test a specific spot.

What does the RHT10 datalogger add to this kit?

The RHT10 records humidity and temperature over time, storing up to 16,000 readings for each. It supports grains per pound calculations and lets you download the data through USB for reports.

Can this kit measure surface temperature?

Yes. The MO290 has a built-in infrared thermometer with a range of -4 to 392°F and an 8 to 1 distance to target ratio for non-contact surface readings.

What batteries does the MO290 use?

The MO290 runs on a single 9V battery, which is included. The RHT10 datalogger uses its own lithium battery.
