The Fluke 179 is a true-RMS AC/DC digital multimeter for professional electricians and technicians. True-RMS technology keeps AC voltage and current readings accurate even when the waveform is not a clean sine wave, which suits industrial and commercial work with complex signals.
The 179 measures AC and DC voltage to 1000 V, AC and DC current to 10 A, resistance to 50 MΩ, capacitance to 10,000 µF and frequency to 100 kHz. A built-in thermometer reads temperature from -40 °C to +400 °C, and an analog bar graph tracks changing signals at a glance.
A backlit display keeps readings visible in low light, and the rugged, ergonomic housing is designed to withstand a drop from up to six feet for daily field use. The meter ships with an 80BK temperature probe and test leads, and it runs on an installed 9V battery.
